Aims
The
Nursery provides a happy, caring and secure environment for the
children in our care to grow and develop whilst learning at the same
time. We believe that children learn primarily through play, developing
their social skills at the same time as their physical skills. We
provide a wide variety of activities designed to encourage the children
as they learn.
Early Years
A
child's early years are some of the most important ones in their
development, we believe that it is vitally important that the children
are happy and recognised as individuals which in turn will lead to them
becoming willing learners. At
Presmere we firmly believe that children learn through play and from
the example of enthusiastic adults helping and guiding them on their
learning journey.
From last September (2008) we have, in line with new
government policy, introduced the New Early Years Foundation Stage
which involves a system of record keeping from birth to 5 years. All
the children in our care now have an individual learning journey- this
is a unique document detailing, through the use of photography and
observations, the child's' progress whilst they are with us. This is
regularly shared with parents and we encourage and welcome their
comments and contributions.
The Foundation Stage has 6 areas of learning, these are:-
*Personal, social and emotional development.
*Communication, language and literacy.
*Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy.
*Knowledge and understanding of the world.
*Physical development.
*Creative development.
