Presmere
Day Nursery opened in July 1991 and has grown over the years from being
registered for six children to now sixteen children. The nursery is comprised of
a homely baby room for three babies where we aim to cater for each
baby's individual needs and ensure that the care they have is similar
to what happens at home so they settle in quickly and are not too
disrupted by coming to nursery.
The rest of the nursery is a large, purpose built, bright and sunny room where the children
have the
opportunity to experience a wide variety of activities designed to
encourage them to learn whilst playing. We have a lovely cosy book
corner, a well equipped home corner, a writing area, a computer as well
as lots of space for messy and general play. This room can accommodate
thirteen children at any one time with a member of staff for every four
children. This ensures lots of care and attention is given to every
child we care for.
The nursery has a beautiful large garden which is used every day with the aim being this year to allow the children to have free access to it. We have a variety of bikes, trikes and tractors to help promote a range of skills. We also have a variety of climbing and balancing equipment as well as lots of open space to run around in and play.
We also have a Nursery Vegetable
Garden where the children are encouraged to help grow a variety of
vegetables which can then be used fresh in our kitchen.
